As the debate over Free Basics and net neutrality entered an interesting phase in India, Egypt has decided to shut down Facebook’s controversial free internet service, media reported on 31 December.

Although authorities in Egypt were yet to announce the reason behind it, telecom carrier Etisalat Egypt, Facebook’s partner in Egypt, has suspended the free internet service that it began providing two months ago, tech website Engadget.com reported.

European plane maker Airbus has pushed back the delivery of its first A320neo aircraft to the start of 2016, it said on Wednesday, missing a goal to hand over the revamped version of the jet to its initial customer by the end of 2015.

The A320neo, seen as a profit driver for Airbus and its suppliers in coming years, won safety approval in late November, and Airbus said it was working with its development partners to bring the plane into operation.

Major Electronics manufacturing company Samsung will hike their investment in vietnam project.

A unit of South Korea's Samsung Electronics won Vietnamese government approval on Tuesday to raise its investment in an electronics plant to $2 billion, part of a wave of projects in Vietnam by global consumer goods giants.

A Ho Chi Minh City government official said the Vietnamese government had given a green light to Samsung Asia Pte Ltd increasing its investment in the city's Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP) from a previous $1.4 billion.

According to the company's statement, the potential combination will exclude RCom's towers and optical fibre infrastructure, for which the company is proceeding with an asset sale, as announced on December 4, 2015. RCom further said that the discussions are non-binding in nature and there is no certainty that they will lead to any transaction.

The company has entered into a 90-day exclusivity period with Aircel's majority owner Malaysia's Maxis Communications Bhd and another shareholder Sindya Securities and Investments Pvt Ltd, Reliance said in a statement.
